The Standard License from Jamendo Licensing is ideal for online content creators and small businesses looking to legally use music in digital projects.
Here are your rights with the Standard License:
- Adapt the track for your project: You can cut the music, loop parts, adjust volume, or add fade-ins and fade-outs.
- Use in online content: You’re free to synchronize one track with one video or audio project and publish it on websites, social media platforms, YouTube, podcasts, and other digital channels.
- Commercial and professional use: The license covers commercial, professional, and corporate video and audio content published online.
However, the Standard License does not cover:
- Broadcast use (TV, cinema, radio, or public performance)
- Use in video games or mobile applications
- Physical distribution (e.g., DVDs or other media formats)
If your project falls into any of these categories, you’ll need an upgraded license.
The National License is perfect for those needing more extensive rights while keeping their content distribution national in scope.
Here's what it includes:
- All Standard License rights, such as adapting the track (cutting, looping, volume adjustments) and synchronizing it with a single piece of online content.
- Use in national radio: You can synchronize the track with audio content for radio broadcast within one country.
- Mobile apps (national use): The track can be used in a mobile app that’s accessible or downloadable only within the country.
- Public performance and broadcast (national scope only): You can use the track in content that is performed or broadcast publicly, as long as it remains within national borders.
However, the National License does not allow:
- Use in international radio, apps, or public broadcasts
- Broadcast on TV, cinema, or video streaming platforms
- Use in physical distribution like DVDs or other media
If your project involves international reach or any of the restricted uses listed above, an upgraded license will be required
The National Full License is an excellent option for projects that require broad media usage rights within a single country. It includes all the permissions of the National License, along with additional broadcast rights that make it suitable for high-visibility commercial content.
Here’s what you’re allowed to do with a National Full License:
- All National License rights: Adapt the track (cutting, looping, volume changes), and synchronize it with a single online video or audio project, national radio broadcasts, national mobile apps or video games, and public performances—within your country only.
- National TV use: Synchronize the track with video content for national television.
- National cinema use: Use the track in films shown in movie theaters within the country.
- National streaming platforms: Use the track in content streamed on national video platforms.
However, the National Full License does not allow:
- International use in any form (radio, apps, broadcasts, or streaming)
- Distribution of projects on physical media
- Use in global streaming services or international broadcasts
If your project involves any international exposure or distribution, you’ll need to upgrade to a broader license type.
The Enterprise License is designed for companies and creators with international ambitions, offering extensive global usage rights for audio-based and interactive content.
Here’s what you can do with an International License:
- Adapt and synchronize the track: You may cut, loop, and adjust the volume to fit your project, though you cannot remix the track or add lyrics.
- Use in online content: Synchronize one track with one piece of video or audio content published online.
- International audio broadcast: Use the track in radio broadcasts across any country.
- Mobile apps and video games: Synchronize the track with apps or games that are available and used internationally.
- Public performance and broadcast: Use the track in content that is broadcast or performed publicly around the world.
However, the International License does not cover:
- Use in TV broadcasts (national or international)
- Use in cinema (national or international)
- Use in video streaming platforms
- Distribution of content on physical media (e.g. DVDs, USBs)
If your project includes TV, cinema, streaming, or physical distribution, you’ll need to upgrade to a more comprehensive license.
The Enterprise Full License is Jamendo Licensing’s most extensive option, offering global coverage for both audio and video projects across virtually all major media platforms. It’s ideal for large-scale commercial campaigns, international media distribution, and global brand visibility.
Here’s what’s included:
-
All rights granted under the Enterprise License:
Modify the track (cutting, looping, volume adjustments) for synchronization with a single video or audio project, use in international radio, mobile apps, video games, and public performances around the world. -
Expanded rights for global video use:
- Synchronize the track with video content for international TV broadcasts
- Use in films for international cinema release
- Synchronize with content on international video streaming platforms
Exclusions:
- This license does not allow distribution of projects on physical media (e.g. CDs, DVDs, USBs)
- Any synchronization not explicitly listed above would require a custom or upgraded license
The Enterprise Full License ensures you’re covered for nearly all digital and broadcast uses on a global scale. For anything beyond what’s included, especially physical distribution or highly specific use cases—feel free to contact our Sales Team via the Jamendo Licensing website.

Questions fréquemment posées
One Individual License grants you the right to use a single track in one video or multimedia project.
A "project" is defined as a single audio creation, audiovisual creation, or multimedia creation that is synchronized with the track.
This definition applies to all types of licenses, including Standard, National, National Full, Enterprise, and Enterprise Full.
Examples of what constitutes a single project include:
- One single audio creation: For instance, a podcast episode or a radio advert.
- One single audiovisual creation: For example, a video or a theatre production.
- One single multimedia creation: Such as a video game or a mobile application.
Each license type provides different scopes of use, but all are based on the synchronization of a single track with one project.
With a single license, you can use one track in one project.
Each Individual License comes with a one-time price, which grants you the right to synchronize the track with a single project.
Additionally, the license allows you to broadcast the synchronized project across various mediums, within the limitations outlined by the respective license type. The right to broadcast the final project is unlimited in time, meaning you will not need to renew the license.
The available Catalog licenses are:
- Standard License
- National License
- National Full License
- Enterprise License
- Enterprise Full License
Learn more about the broadcasting scope of each license type here.
When using a track under a Catalog license, you need to credit the artist and the track, in the following format:
Name of the Artist — Name of the Track — Provided by Jamendo
This mention does not necessarily need to be directly in the video itself. For example, if you're using the track in a YouTube video, you can include the credit in the video description without any issue.
The key is that viewers should be able to easily find the track's name and artist if they wish to do so. Ensuring this information is accessible is the most important aspect of proper attribution.
